I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
