One two-month cruise circling the Australian Coast is being halted in the wake of the death of an elderly woman who was left behind by the ship on a remote tropical isle.

The passenger had been walking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the group for a break. The vessel sailed away leaving her and came back after some time after the ship staff became aware the lady was not present.

An extensive search operation discovered her person the subsequent day.
